A memorial service for Melissa Kay Smelley, 61, of Onalaska, Texas will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Melissa was born April 16, 1964, in Houston, Texas and passed away April 6, 2026, in Onalaska, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert Luis Vilo and Jackie Sue Mize Vilo; brother, Chip Vilo; and son-in-law, Brett Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband, William Smelley; son, John Allen Smelley and wife Tracey; daughter, Tammy Joyce Mitchell; son, Brian Dewayne Smelley and wife Kristi; daughters, Christina Suzzane Jones, Stella Marie Chandler, Tabitha Kay Bland and husband Buddy, and Misty Dawn Fulgium and husband Casey; 22 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and brothers, Bill Sturdevant and Jason Gay; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
