Melvin Douglas Cassel, 71, of Onalaska, Texas was born June 22, 1949 in Conroe, Texas to parents, Martin Cassel and Olene (Bobbitt) Cassel, and passed away January 15, 2021 in Kingwood, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Calvin Helton; sisters, Becky Flores and Katie Casey. Mr. Cassel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Mary (Rhodes) Cassel of Onalaska, Texas; son, Brandon Douglas Cassel; brother and sister-in-law, William Cassel and Nancy; sister, Theresa Hosea; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends..
