Melvin Gaston 71 of Livingston passed away August 16, 2008 in Anahuac. Memorial services were held Monday August 18, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Orval Barger officiating.

Melvin was born August 24, 1936 in Livingston to parents Vernon and Callie Saunders Gaston. He married his wife Carolyn Ann Smith on August 15, 1960 in Cleveland. Melvin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Livingston and very active in his Sunday school class. His favorite hobby was art framing.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Ann Gaston of Livingston, daughter Sheri C. Dunning of Onalaska, grandsons T. J. Dunning IV and girlfriend Amy Price, and Ty Dunning and wife Shelly, great grandchildren Thomas J. Dunning V and Haelie Dunning. Also surviving him is Candy Placker a special family friend.
