Melvin Eugene Hendrick 64 of Livingston passed away Friday May 29, 2009. Funeral services will be held in his honor Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 1:00PM in the Houston National Cemetery Chapelin Houston with Rev. John Denby officiating. Burial will follow in the Houston National Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by District 4 Honor Guard.

Melvin was born February 1, 1945 in Eldorado, Illinois to parents Noah Hendrick and Mable Baldwin Hendrick. He was a teacher for many years, teaching elementry in Aldine ISD and then Special Ed in Klein ISD. Melvin was also a proud United States Veteran serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Beverly Hendrick of Livingston, sons Joel Hendrick and Jay Hendrick both of Abilene, stepsons Rusty Fincher and wife Janet of Willis, Richard Fincher of San Antonio, and step daughter Judy Carter of Houston, and sisters Geraldine Pritchett of Sidney, IL., and Charlet Rankin of Herrin IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brain Fincher, John Fincher, and Julia Fincher all of Willis, and Joshua Carter and Joseph Carter of Houston.
