Funeral services for Melvin Elliott Nesmith, Jr., 48, of Livingston, Texas will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, with James Rosier and Doyle Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held the day of service from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Melvin was born October 28, 1975 in Livingston, Texas and passed away April 9, 2024 in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Elliott Nesmith, Sr.

He is survived by his daughters, Destiny Shirley and husband Robert of Livingston, Texas and Kelsie Hodge and husband Doyle, Jr. of Onalaska, Texas; son, Melvin Elliott Nesmith III and wife Maci of Livingston, Texas; mother, Faye Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; wife Penni Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; sons, Coty Nesmith, Hunter Nesmith, Wayne Nesmith, Tremorian Nesmith, Carter Wright, and Elijah Davis; 12 grandchildren; brother, Tommy Nesmith and wife Marsha of Livingston, Texas; sister, Jojuanna Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; and uncle, Homer Nesmith and wife Sharon of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
