Melvin Bartley Yancey, 72 of Livingston passed away Wednesday March 19,2008. Graveside services were held Friday March 21, 2008 at 10:00AM in Peebles Cemetery with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating.
Melvin was born August 20, 1935 in Henderson, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Hubert Yancey and his mother Lena Penn.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Yancey, sons Johnny Ray Yancey, William Yancey, daughters Susan Olmstead, Elizabeth LaRose, sisters Marie McPherson, Virginia Holt, and brother Robert Yancey. He is also survived by his grandchildren Paul Valderez Jr., Ronnie Yancey, Sophia Shaffer, Katie LaRose, Abigail LaRose, Brayden Yancey, Jacie David, Callie Yancey,and Robert Yancey, along with his 4 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers Clifford Hinze, Chris Yancey, William Yancey, Corkey LaRose, Paul Valderez and Paul Valderez Jr.
