Obituary
Funeral services for Menden Clinton Johnson, 91, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Bro. Jason Sandefer officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas.
Mr. Johnson was born on August 12, 1925 in Colfax, Louisiana to parents, Newton Johnson and Leola (Bryant) Johnson, and passed away on May 20, 2017 in Onalaska, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Janell Johnson; sisters, Lucille Bembow, Syble McDonald, Dorothy Lyles, Velma Futrell, Geneva Hyde, Almarie Whitstine; and Maxine Mitchell; brother, Hershel Johnson; daughter-in-law, Pam Dowell; grandsons, Joey Badillo and Chase Johnson; and step-grandson, Billy Tooke.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Hughes of Onalaska; daughters, Teresa Jordan, Debbie Johnson, Betty Davis and Tammy Jerkins, and Martha Faye Johnson all of Onalaska; son and daughter-in-law, Glynn and Pam Johnson of Onalaska; sons, Ronnie Johnson and Mark Johnson both of Onalaska; brother, J.H. Johnson of Colfax, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Huey and Cindy Johnson of Colfax, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Misdy Johnson of Colfax, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Carl Vercher of Colfax, Louisiana; and 75 grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
