Funeral services for Michael Norman Blackmon age 60 of Livingston, Texas will be held Sunday May 1, 2011 at 4:30 PM in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with Rev. David Jones, Rev. Winkie Johnson and Rev. John Taylor officiating and interment to follow in the Menard Chapel cemetery in Livingston. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gokey, Raymond Denton, James Higginbotham, Tom Clifton, Lonnie Lewis, Kenny Roberds, Larry Roberds, Ray Roberds and Randy Tochet. Honorary Pallbearers will be the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, Tommy Arrington and Ray Harsey.

He was born June 17, 1950 in Livingston, Texas the son of William Norman Blackmon and Carrie Roberds Blackmon and passed away April 28, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son.

Mr. Blackmon was the past fire chief for the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, an ordained minister at the Ace Baptist Church and loved to garden.

He is survived by Sherry Blackmon, wife of Livingston, Texas, , Scott & Robin Blackmon, son and daughter in law of Livingston, Amy & Harold Steagall, daughter and son in law of Livingston, Travis & Jennifer Blackmon, son and daughter in law of Livingston, Michael & Brenda Blackmon, Jr., son and daughter in law of Cypress Springs, Texas, Shelley & John Libhart, daughter and son in law of Wortham, Texas, Betsy Drew, sister of Liberty, and grandchildren; Reagan, Ross, Cassadi, J.W., Paige, Eli, Sean, Emily, Jacob, Wyatt, Lauren, Amber, Elisha, Zachary, Drew, Hailey .
