Michael Wayne Carson was born on July 8, 1973 in Merriam, Kansas and passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 from a heart related illness. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1990. He attended Kansas State University and graduated in 1995.

Mike began his career in Wichita Kansas at Koch Industries in finance in 1998.  Shortly afterwards he moved to Houston and had a very successful 25 year career trading power and natural gas for Koch Energy and also for Merrill Lynch Commodities, among others.  Mike was widely known for both his trading acumen and his ability to make the whole trading floor laugh during an otherwise stressful moment.

He married Heather Hill in 1999. They have four children. He volunteered with the Texas Boys Outdoors (US military, firefighters, police officers and National Guard suffering from PTSD).
Mike is survived by his parents, Charles and Susan Carson; his brother Jeff and wife Carrie Mae Carson; his children, Harris, Tucker, Hayden and Blake; and his girlfriend, Cara Lennon.

A celebration of life for Michael will be held on December 14th at 1:00 p.m. at The Woodlands Methodist Church in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make your donation to Texas Boys Outdoors or to The Woodlands Methodist Church.
