Mickey Alvin Nettles

Mickey Alvin Nettles, 68, of Livingston, Texas, beloved husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Born on March 20, 1958 in Atlanta, Texas, Mickey was the son of Alvin Wilson Nettles and Olean Macomber Nettles. He worked in the community for nearly 40 years as a welder, fabricator, and craftsman. Whether at a job site or in his shop, Mickey’s work served as a testament to his skill and dedication.

Mickey was known for his smile. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people, never missing an opportunity to share a story or start a conversation. He was great at making and maintaining friendships.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Tracy; his son, Dan Nettles and wife Ashley; and his daughter, Katie Colvin and husband Drew. He was a proud grandfather to his grandsons, Evan Nettles and Sam Colvin.

Mickey also leaves behind his brothers, Neal Nettles and wife Pam, Lance Nettles and wife Sherrie; and his sister, Gina Jones and husband Preston; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and special thanks to Gentiva Hospice Care and Debra Wright Simmons for the exceptional, compassionate care they provided to Mickey.

Pallbearers: Dan Nettles, Drew Colvin, Neal Nettles, Lance Nettles, Kenny Oates, and Jimmy Hickman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Bluff Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Soda Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
