Funeral services for Miriam Dale Chaney, 88, of Livingston, Texas will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Brian Waddell officiating. Interment will begin at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in the Port Bolivar Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Chaney was born August 26, 1930 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents, Hobson and Eva Clary, and passed away July 26, 2019 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, JW Chaney. During her life, Miriam retired after many years from the University of Houston as an Administrative Executive Secretary. Following her retirement, she ran the Crystal Beach Chamber of Commerce until 2008 after Hurricane Ike hit and she moved to Livingston. Miriam was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Livingston and volunteered regularly.

She is survived by her son, Doug Stanley Jr. and wife, Sarah; daughters, Laurie Dale Mills and husband, Michael Sr., and Debra Duncan; grandchildren, Silver Renee Owens and Matthew, Michael Mills Jr. and Paula, Jennifer Snodgrass and husband, Larry, Randall Stewart Jr. and Kacey, and Robert Stewart and Maddie; great-grandchildren, Tyler Mills, Sky Mills, Mikayla Snodgrass, Melody Snodgrass, Jocelyne Stewart, Randall "Trip" Stewart III., Kathryn Stewart, Skylyr Stewart, Jordyn Stewart, and Bradlee Stewart; and her beloved dog, Tina; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Children's Ministry or Helping Hands also with the First United Methodist Church.
