Funeral services for MJ Hopson, 88, of Livingston, Texas will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mike Loftin officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will take place on the day of service, from 12:00-2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

MJ was born October 18, 1936 in Livingston, Texas and passed  away June 30, 2025 in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hopson; parents, Milam and Martha Hopson; and daughter, Kim Hopson.

He is survived by his son, Ronnie Hopson (Betty) of New Waverly, Texas; daughter, Karen Sessions (Paul) of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Christina Smith, Sara Sessions, Jessica Rodriguez (Anthony), Katie Phan (Kevin), Cassie Hopson Anderson (Jody), and Rebecca Hopson Messer (Christopher); great grandchildren, Abbigail Villanueva, David Villanueva, Landen Anderson, Kaselee Anderson, Madelyn Messer, Andrew Rodriguez, and Layla Rodriguez; brother, Dan Hopson; and sister-in-law, Frankie Hopson; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Hopson, Lynn Hopson, Tommy Hopson, Darran Hopson, Kenneth Hopson, and Bobby Platt.
