Murel ""Cowboy"" Stapleton, age 72, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2013, in Livingston. He was born on September 21, 1940, in Columbia Louisiana, to parents, Harvey Lee and Katie Lee Wilson Stapleton.

Murel ""Cowboy"" Stapleton is preceded in death by both of his parents; and brothers, Harvey Stapleton and Roy Stapleton. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Murel Stapleton, of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Woodward and Jeff, of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Jean Buck and David, of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Keyla Woodward, Marie Woodward, Jeffrey Murel Woodward, Katie Jean St. Andry, Whitnee St. Andry; he was able to see and meet his only great-grandchild, Lisa Marie Burke; brothers, Johnny Stapleton, Luther Ray Stapleton, and James Stapleton; uncle, Buckshot Stapleton; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Murel ""Cowboy"" Stapleton will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 10:00 AM, at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, Louisiana.
