Funeral services for Myrlie M. Townley, 85, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Livingston Church of Christ in Livingston, Texas with Lindell Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Cemetery in the Midway Community, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Townley was born October 28, 1933 in Livingston, Texas to parents, William Albert Holder and Nora Jency (Bittick) Holder, and passed away January 13, 2019 in Conroe, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ann Elizabeth Hendrix. During her life, Myrlie was a graduate of Big Sandy High School and Durham Business College. She first worked for Sam Houston Electric Cooperative. Later, she kept books for Woods Creek Water Supply Corporation. She was a member of Livingston Church of Christ where she taught bible class for children for many years. Myrlie loved children, flowers, and preparing meals for guests in her home. Her specialties in cooking were chicken dressing, yeast rolls, and pecan pies. She was a devoted homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and neighbor.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Townley; son, Bill Townley and wife, Melanie; son, Mark Townley and wife, Kathryn; granddaughter, Sarah Townley; and sister, Carolyn Parks and husband, Larry; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
