Myron ""Skookie"" Holmes Duke III 79 of Livingston passed away Thursday April 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held in his honor 11:00AM Tuesday April 7, 2009 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30PM in the Stewart Cemetery in Henderson.

Skookie was born December 7, 1929 in Beaumont, to parents Myron Holmes Duke Jr. and Violet Beatrice Duff Duke.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Lynn Duke and brother Paul Malcolm Duke.

Skookie is survived by his wife of 33 years Alice Duke of Livingston, daughters Brenda N. Duff of Beaumont, Cindy Hyde of Springfield, La., and Deborah Woods of Houston, and sons Myron H. Duke IV of Memphis, Tn. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
