Myrtle Phillips age 84 passed away peacefully on Friday October 9, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be Tuesday October 13, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Thompson and Rev. Dickie Boddie officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett. Visitation will be Monday October 12, 2009 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM also in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Myrtle was born October 14, 1924 in Goose Creek, to parents Bonnell Cummings and Barbara Elizabeth Penry Cummings. She later married her husband whom preceded her in death Johnnie H. (Red) Phillips.

She is survived by her sisters Ruth Atchley of Livingston and Barbara Nell Ferris of New Braunfels. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Manchaca, Presley Cummings, James Howard White and Steven Richardson.
