Nathan Flynn Hendrix, age 81, of Big Sandy, TX, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2026. A memorial service will be held at Big Sandy Community Church on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Viewing begins at 9:00 a.m. with funeral service at 10:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at Big Sandy Cemetery.

Flynn loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseman, and woodworker over the years. He was also dedicated to understanding and spreading the word of God. His many callings included serving as an educator, running his own logging business, preaching, and selflessly caring for his family.

Flynn was born March 27, 1945, in Livingston, Texas to Hobby Hendrix and Bessie Lelia (Harrison) Hendrix. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbie Jones; and brother, Hobby Hendrix.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian (McMillan) Hendrix of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey Hendrix Gross and Eric of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Travis Flynn Hendrix and Tracy of Big Sandy, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Lindsay Richards and Ben of Wyoming, Lauren Ward and Jesus of Caldwell, Texas; and son, Jesse Hendrix of Woodville, Texas; grandchildren, Joseph Hendrix, Travis Hendrix, Jacob Gross, William Gross, Aiden Richards, Shane Richards; great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Finley, Nolan, Newt, Lenny, Bea and Ivy Lynn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn Hendrix and Charlotte of Big Sandy, Joe Earl Hendrix and Carrie of Houston, Texas; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
