Nell Pitts age 69 of Livingston passed away Thursday May 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday May 24, 2010 in the Hickory Grove Church in Livingston with Bro. Wayne Landrum officiating. Burial will follow in the Peebles Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday May 23, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home.

Nell was born March 16, 1941 in Laurel,Mississippi to parents Jess Wade and Bernela Bush Wade. She married James Monroe Pitts on May 19th 1956, after meeting only 2 Sundays earlier. The met one Sunday at church, the next Sunday they were engaged and the third Sunday they were married. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister Ophie Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years James M. Pitts of Livingston, daughters Patricia Nell Pitts of Livingston, Regina Summers and husband Brian of Channelview, and Tina Pitts of Galveston, niece Shirley Crenshaw of Collins, Mississippi, and her granddaughters Kristin Summers and Brittney Summers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Summers, Roger Landrum, David Landrum, Kevin Vandiver, Keith Vandiver, and Marlin McGowen.
