Services for Nelna Jean Morris, 82, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Tom Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Soda, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Nelna Jean Morris was born on April 17, 1931 in Ace, Texas, Polk County, Texas, to Garlie Waymon and Cordie (Walters) Oliver. She grew up in Livingston and graduated from Goodrich High School. Nelna Jean was united in Holy Matrimony to Jimmie J. Morris on the 27th day of March, 1953 in Baytown, Texas.

Nelna Jean is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bryant Neal Oliver; sister and brother-in-law, Lavada and John Shirley.

Nelna Jean was a housewife, homemaker, and worked at several banks. Her latest employment was with the First State Bank of Livingston, where she retired after 35 years.

Nelna Jean is survived by her husband of 60 plus years, Jimmie J. Morris; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Niles and Tamara Morris; two grandsons, Cody Tyler Morris and Ryan Kyle Morris; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
