Netta Mae Craig 92, of Livingston passed away Thursday February 26, 2009 in The Woodlands. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Saturday February 28, 2009 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will be starting at 1:00 Saturday until service time.
Netta Mae was born February 6, 1917 in Zavalla, to parents Sam Hugh Kinard and Willie Maude Dykes Kinard. She graduated high school from Zavalla High School and later went to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she met her husband Lee Roy Craig. They married on October 5, 1934 in Lufkin. She was a long time member of the Central Baptist Church in Livingston, where she participated in various women' church groups throughout the years. She was also an accomplished artist and member of the Livingston Art League, and Home Demonstration Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Roy Craig, daughter Bobbie Craig McCollum, sisters Hazel Hanna and Helen Nuchia,and brother John H. Bentley
Netta Mae is survived by her loving family, son and daughter in law Hugh and Zonna Craig of Livingston, grandson Lance Craig and wife Karen of Livingston, granddaughter Tara Craig Owens and husband Charlie of The Woodlands, great granddaughters Gracen and Hope Owens of The Woodlands, and sister Beth Runnels. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Bentley, Chris Runnels, Lenn Runnels, Randall Sanders, Richard Walters, Darrell Longino, and John Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hoke, Wayne Harris, Richard Gott, Dale Hill, Ronny Duke and Johnny Myers
