February 24, 1954 – April 19, 2022
Funeral services for Nettie Sue Wilkinson Rush will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2022 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Nettie Sue Wilkinson Rush, 68, of Kingwood, Texas died April 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Livingston, Texas on February 24, 1954, to Carnie Gregory Wilkinson and Nettie Murry Wilkinson who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Carnie Gregory Wilkinson, Jr., and Billy Gerald Wilkinson.
Sue married her sweetheart, Ernie Glenn Rush, on July 17, 1971, after they dated throughout their junior high and high school years in Cleveland, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2022. Their 56-year love story is a beautiful example of God's love for us all. Ernie and Sue's greatest joy in life, daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth, was born in 1981.
Sue worked in accounting, for many years at Kingwood First Baptist Church, and retired in December 2021 from The Covenant Preparatory School in Kingwood. Her most time-consuming and rewarding job was being Jennifer's dance mom, PTA room mother, GA Camp mom, band mom, youth group mom, Baylor mom, mother-of-the-bride, and close-friend-mom. Sue enjoyed laughing and talking with her family and friends, shopping, and attending KFBC where she was a member of The Word Life Group and spent several years teaching 6th grade Sunday School.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Rush Alexander and husband, Quinn Alexander; granddaughter, Emily Alexander (all of Kingwood); sister, Wanda Williams of Marble Falls; and sister-in-law, Shirley Wilkinson of Corrigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Billy Shane Wilkinson, Kevin Hall, Cody Evans, Zac Hall, John Thigpen, Robin Parsons, Josh Parsons, Brian Goll, Freddie Goodson, Aron Purvis; and Honorary Pallbearer Brad Baggett.
