Obituary

Nina Joyce Rowe was born June 10th, 1956, in Lufkin, Texas to Wilburn Sandal Rowe Jr and Elsie Joyce Martin Rowe. She passed in Moscow, Texas on February 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Nina started school in Camden but returned to Moscow School, until it consolidated with Corrigan in 1966.  She graduated from Corrigan Camden ISD, then attended Angelina College and Tyler Jr College.

Nina's work life allowed her to travel to various towns and make numerous friends. She lived and worked in Bryan/College Station for many years and became a landman in 2006 until present.  She was well known amongst her colleagues and loved working at the county clerks' offices and title plants. Many Aggie graduates survived thanks to Nina's willingness to always answer a call, arrange a pickup/drop off, and her encouragement along the way.

Nina loved a game of cards or dominos, chocolate, and having a good time. Therefore, trips to Las Vegas were a favorite of hers and enjoyed thoroughly. She was the youngest of four siblings, a cousin, niece, and friend to so many.

However, her greatest role, and the one that came most naturally, was that of an aunt. Above and beyond all others, Nina was the aunt that filled every want or need a niece or nephew could muster. Yet her indulgences were not limited to material things. She spoiled with her time and attention; never rushing a game or trip to the Moscow Park. Time with her was full of laughter and each moment was meaningful.

You could confide your wildest ideas or darkest moments in Nina, and no judgment was ever passed. Never one to shame, she offered encouragement, as well as grace, often. Nina loved big, and her actions never left any doubts. The vast array of friends that she has made over her lifetime, the family that loves her so deeply, and the multitude of people that have been here in her final months speak volumes.  Her absence feels so great, only because her presence was so big.

So many wonderful memories have been made with Nina, each of us sharing special stories that we can look back on.  Yet, there are some young hearts that are broken and as time passes it may be harder for them to recall the amazing women that once filled their lives with fun, and laughter, and love.  So, we must speak of her often. Remind them that she was a force to be reckoned with; that she was funny and witty. Remind them that she could make you laugh, sometimes in the most inopportune moments, often with sarcastic comment. Remind them that she stood her ground and always stood up for her kids. Remind them that you can leave home, but returning to be surrounded by loved ones is always a good option. And remind them on the hardest days, that she loved and enjoyed them with every bit of her being.

Nina is survived by her sister, Jane Clarke, brother Buster Rowe, nephew Josh Clarke and wife Michelle, nephew Jay Clarke and wife Jessie, niece Rachel Arbuckle and husband Chad, great nieces Meagan, Ava, and Autry, great nephews J.D., Cole, Jett, Kort, Rhett, and Reid, aunts Patsy Martin and Irene Martin, and numerous cousins and friends.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 10th 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
