Memorial services for Nolan Joseph Gouthier Jr., 65, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Livingston, Texas with Fr. Chester Makowski officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the church.
Nolan was born January 22, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents, Nolan Joseph Gouthier Sr. and Mildred (Yother) Gouthier, and passed away June 26, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents. During his life, Nolan spent 5 years in seminary school at St. Meinrad in Indiana. After seminary school, he spent 13 years as a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Beaumont. Nolan then worked as a CPS investigator for the State of Texas. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Kim Evans. They were married for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Evans Gouthier; brother, Phillip Gouthier and wife, Tammy; sister-in-law, Rochelle Evans Maxwell; nieces and nephews, Jana McInnis and husband, David, Jessa Gouthier-Walton, Phillip Gouthier, Cheryl Carlson and husband, Jeff, Dayna Zolninger and husband, Griff, Dusky Evans and significant other, Jeff Camarda, Michelle Cochran, Mimi Counce and husband, Sam, and Richard Cochran Jr. and wife, Leslie; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nolan James Gouthier, Bonnie McInnis, Izabella Walton, Chase Carlson, Blake Carlson, Aren Zolninger, Layne Zolninger, Evan Moore, Carli Moore, Clay Counce, and Trey Cochran; along with numerous other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his poodle, Izzi; his coonhound, Lydia; and his rat terriers, Conway and Dolly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Polk County SPCA or to the Alzheimer's Association.
