Obituary

Norman Gene Ross

Norman was born on September 19, 1936, in Belton, Texas, to Maggie and Gus Oliver Ross. He passed away September 1, 2022, at Conroe Regional Hospital. He was a long time resident of both Dayton and Livingston, Texas.

Norman is proceeded in death by both of his parents, all 11 siblings, his first wife of 40 years, Norma Ross and his second wife of 18 years, Jean Ross.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Cindy Glover and her husband Ken, his grandson A.D. Glover and his wife Arely, grandson Kasey Glover  and his wife Shelby, and his great granddaughter, Magnolia Mae Glover, all of Livingston. As well as step children, step grandchildren and great step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norman enlisted and served his country with the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he received a "Good Conduct Medal FIRST AWARD" while serving with the Patrol Squadron FORTY, NAS, N.I.

Norman retired from Exxon Refinery in Baytown, Texas. While working as a Sheet Metal Draftsman/Specialist for Exxon, he had the opportunity to work on the 1990 restoration of the "Battleship Texas" and serve on the "Oil Spill Response Cleanup Team" in Prince William Sound, Alaska after the oil spill of the Exxon Valdez.

Family was the most important thing to Norman. He also enjoyed fishing, the Astros and yardwork/gardening.

Our deepest appreciation goes to The Bradford Rehabilitation Center (especially Annie), Memorial Tier Rehab (Texas Medical Center) and Conroe Regional Hospital.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
