Wilson

Mrs. Wilson was born September 13, 1934 in Weldon, Texas to parents, Herbert Harrelson and Mary Lou (Reeves) Harrelson, and passed away October 24, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Wilson; children, Thomas, Fred, Patsy, Betty, and Susan; grandson, Ryan; siblings, Bunk, Linni, Buck, Margie, Rudy, Howard, Fred, Elmo, Vera, Inez, Birda Mae, Crystelle, June, and Gladys. During her life, Mrs. Wilson "Dess" attended Grace Community Church in Tyler where she was involved in Swim & Sparrow and was a volunteer at the Hospice of East Texas. She also volunteered countless hours working at the Shepherd Little League ball field. Dess ran the concession stand like a business to help purchase whatever was needed for a child to play baseball and wanted every child to be able to play. She loved working side by side with the parents and the kids that wanted to work in the concessions area. She really enjoyed teaching the kids how to cook hot dogs, corn dogs, frito pies, popcorn and how to make snow cones. She was adamant that everyone should know how to count change back to the customer. Dess loved the time spent working at the County Extension Office and working with all the students in the 4H program. Her greatest joy was serving others and she will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Johnson and husband, David of Onalaska; daughter, Terri Fields and husband, Gary of Troup; son, Russell Wilson and wife, Pam of Baytown; grandchildren, Steven, Bobby, Tommy, Stacy, Timothy, Daniel, Cristi, Marti, and Michael; and sisters, Ella, Frances, Ester, and Bonnie; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Bobby, Steven, Tommy, Tim, Daniel, Gary
