Graveside services for Odie Rae Wilson, 95, of Friendswood, Texas, will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Barnum Community in Polk County, Texas with Rev. Robert Jones officiating.
Mrs. Odie Rae Carter Wilson was born in October 1923 in Lassiter, Jefferson County, Texas to parents, Odie George Carter and Myrtis (Bockman) Carter Gray, and passed away June 15, 2019 in Friendswood, Texas. During her life, Odie lived at Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles and was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Lockheed during WWII; as well as other factory positions until the birth of her children. In February 1949, she married the love of her life, Will Wilson, just a week after he returned from his service in Japan. Odie was known for her strong Christian faith and was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church of Moscow, Texas. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Will Hannan Wilson.
She is survived by her daughters, Debby Adams, Reynea McPeak, and Martha Saunders; grandchildren, Kelley Marosko, Kristi Roney, Kori Adams, Patty Hude, and Fr. Jude/Gerald McPeak; great-grandchildren, Adam Marosko, Addison Marosko, Wren Roney, Lizzy Hude, Max Hude, and Emma Hude; sisters, Billie Mackey, Lil Gray, and Sue Key; and brother, Herman Gray; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Moscow, 13994 N. Old Hwy 35 Rd., Moscow, Texas 75960
