Olga was born in Spurger, Texas, on October 10, 1946. She is preceded in death by her parents, Garland Boyce Defee and Mollie Aline Jordan Defee, brother, Bobby Lynn Defee, and sister-in-law, Erma June Miles Defee.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kristy Long and husband, Hec, of Livingston, and Kelly Fahel and husband, Sam, of Aylett, VA; grandson and her favorite person in the world, Breckett Weston Long of College Station; brothers Jim Defee of Alamosa, CO and Richard Defee of Livingston. Olga is also survived by nephews, Byron Defee of Livingston, Jason Defee and wife, Nichole, of Alamosa, CO, Justin Defee and wife, Kaitlin, of Hattiesburg, MS, and nieces, Delanie Defee Roush and husband, Jay, of Austin, Kenze Defee Beyer and husband, Dan, of Houston, and Tamara Defee of Lago Vista, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Olga and her family moved to Livingston when she was in junior high, and she was a proud member of the class of 1964 at Livingston High School. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1968. She began her teaching career in elementary school in Shepherd and Goodrich before moving to Livingston Junior High where she taught 7th and 8th grade English until her retirement.

She retired in 2004 after teaching 36 years to take care of her grandson. She always said that Breckett was her "ticket to retirement". Olga taught thousands of students and touched so many lives, including both of her daughters. She taught several generations of kids in Livingston and always joked that it was time to get out when she started teaching grandchildren of former students. Olga loved being a part of LJH and performed many duties there through the years, but many remember her as the "candy lady" raising money for Honor Society and the "ticket lady" who was always taking up money for football and basketball games. After Olga retired, she became the Mother's Day Out Director at Central Baptist Church. She fell in love with the "little ones" and got so excited planning activities for them. When Breckett started kindergarten, she began to substitute teach at Livingston schools and tutored at Timber Creek Elementary.

Olga was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church for over 60 years and a proud member of The King's Daughters Sunday School Class. Through the years, she taught Sunday School, helped with the youth and cooked for their mission trips, helped in the church kitchen, played in the handbell choir, and took part in other various ministries. Her faith in Christ was central to her life. She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully.

Olga had a wonderful group of friends who she loved dearly. They were all like family and had many fun and crazy adventures together. They truly cared for each other and were so helpful to her the past few years.

She was one of the loudest and proudest Livingston Lions fans. She cheered for everyone, and you could always see her at football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and track. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids grow up and follow them in their activities. Olga worked at Livingston track meets with her longtime friend, Corky Cochran, starting in high school. She was so excited about the new football stadium being built and looking forward to getting her reserved seat with her friends and helping Corky with track meets there.

Family was the most important thing in her life. She loved big and was so proud of all of them. Everyone knows that her favorite job was being GaGa to her only grandchild, Breckett Weston. She followed him all over watching him play football, baseball, golf, participate in track, and watching weigh-ins at fishing tournaments. Many of his friends and teammates called her GaGa because they knew she was always there to support them too.

In support of the family, you are encouraged to wear Texas A&M maroon or Livingston Lions green in her honor.

Pallbearers are Breckett Long, Byron Defee, Jason Defee, Justin Defee, Vaughn Beyer, and Vance Defee. Honorary pallbearers are classmates of the LHS Class of 1964 and members of the King's Daughters Sunday School Class.

The family would like to thank Country Place Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice, along with all of their employees, for being so caring to our mom and GaGa during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the LHS Alumni Association (212 Garner St., Livingston, Texas 77351) or Central Baptist Church.
