Funeral services for Otto Lewis Hawkins, Jr., 77, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Steve Woody officiating. Interment will follow in the Rice Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. before the service begins.
Otto was born September 23, 1942 in Livingston, Texas to parents, Otto Lewis Hawkins, Sr. and Willouise (Parker) Hawkins, and passed away September 2, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. He graduated from Livingston High School and The University of Texas, where he met his wife Bonnie. They returned to Livingston, started their family and continued the family legacy of serving the Methodist church. He was a local business man, owner of Hawkins Hardware and partner in Medical Rentals & Sales, and an active leader of the Boys Scouts of America Troop 97, where he served his community and helped shape boys into young men. He was an avid hunter who created a family environment and nourished the development of his children and grandchildren's love of the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hawkins of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, James David and Tonda Hawkins of Rosharon, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lewis and Teri Hawkins of Willis, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Scott Hargraves of Livingston, Texas; grandsons, David Wayne Hawkins and wife Vanessa, and Justin Lee Hawkins all of Rosharon, Texas; grandsons, Joshua Cole Hawkins and Zachary Dean Hawkins both of Willis, Texas; grandsons, Brain David Riddle and Braden Christopher Hargraves both of Livingston, Texas; great grandson, John Edgar Hawkins of Willis, Texas; and sister, Ann Hill of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
