In Loving Memory of Patricia Allyce Smith Lankford With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Allyce, who peacefully entered eternal rest with our Lord in the early morning of July 7th, 2026, at the age of 72.
Allyce was born on June 17th, 1954, to Tommy and Patricia Smith in Macon, Georgia. She lived a life rooted in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a generous heart and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed into her home. Her greatest joy was caring for those around her, and her love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
She was a devoted believer in Christ, a cherished wife, daughter, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, and a lover of home cooked meals and dachshunds, most especially her beloved Sadie and Mattie. Some of her greatest joys in life included gardening and canning food to share with her loved ones. She had a true servant’s heart. Her family was the center of her world after living for the Lord first and foremost, and she took immense pride in celebrating all of life’s milestones and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She spent her most recent years faithfully serving in the choir and children’s ministry at Soda Baptist Church.
Allyce will be remembered for her servant’s heart, steadfast faith, contagious smile and heartfelt hugs. She taught us the importance of unconditional love, resilience, and hard work. Her legacy will be one of the greatest gifts to those she left behind.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Charles Lankford, her son Bryan and Lorena Lankford, daughter Sandy Lankford, and brother Tommy and Kathy Smith.
She was a beloved grandmother to 4 grandchildren: Kaitlyn & Michael Eggleton; Michael Lankford; Ivett Lankford and Kasyn Franco; Sarah and Bailey Brown, and 1 great grandchild: CJ Eggleton, as well as numerous other loved ones, who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Patricia Smith, brother Stephen Smith, and nephew Cam Smith.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 10th, 2026, at the Cochran Funeral Home, 406 Yaupon Ave, Livingston, Texas 77351. The visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM and the Funeral Service will be held immediately following from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. The Burial Service will be held at the Palms Memorial Park, 2421 Hwy 146 S, Dayton, Texas 77535 at 2:00PM. Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather to honor and remember a beloved woman whose love and light will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she is at peace and reunited with our Lord and those who have gone before her. We will carry her love with us always and strive to honor her beautiful legacy each and every day.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” – Psalms 23:1-6
