Obituary

Memorial services for Patsy Jean Goins, 72, of Onalaska, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020 in the First United Methodist Church (Holy Grounds) in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Steve Woody officiating.

Patsy Jean Goins, of Onalaska, TX was born on April 28, 1948 in Gordon, Nebraska to Donald and Ruth Hunt. On Monday, October 5, 2020 at the age of 72 her earthly body failed her and she was called home to be reunited with her late husband, John Goins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother (David Hunt), daughter (Terri Powell), grandson (William) and granddaughter (Heather).

Patsy was survived by her son Hank Rein (and wife Margie) of Natchez, MS, son Les Goins (and wife Virginia) of Onalaska, daughter Dawn Gray (and husband Cody) of Chester, daughter Debbie Mask (and husband Gary) of Conroe, daughter Donna Knight of Laurel, MS, and son Johnmark Goins of Laurel, MS. Along with grandchildren: Damien, Dylon, Levi, Connor, AJ, David, Josh, Daniel, Brandon, Ashley, Chelsea, Annanell, Sarah and Jessica. She is also survived by her sister Sue Priest (and husband Tom) of Pensacola, FL, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and too many extended family members to count. Patsy loved her family, with her children and grandchildren being the rubies in her crown.

Patsy was a long time member of FUMC Livingston and the East Texas Emmaus Community. She was known for being a faithful disciple and follower of Christ. She had a love for everyone and anyone, and was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, even a stranger. Everyone who knew her will miss her love, her hugs, and her presence. The world has lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained an angel.

Honorary Pallbearers will be as follows: Les Goins, Hank Rein, Damien Goins, AJ Little, Levi Goins, Dylon Goins, Connor Gray, Bryan Fine, Duane Picazo, Alvin Lyon and John Fothergill. Following the service the family will be gathering at the OVFD Fire Hall on Old Groveton RD in Onalaska from 3-5pm.

If you feel led to make a donation in lieu of flowers then Onalaska Friends of the Library, East Texas Emmaus Community, and FUMC Livingston were all near and dear to Patsy's heart.
