Obituary

Patsy Ann Jackson, 83, of Livingston, Texas, passed away January 11, 2025, in Temple, Texas. She was born on June 22, 1941, in Livingston to Chester Steagall and Esther Walters.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, L D Jackson; her parents; and brother, Kenneth Steagall.

She is survived by her son, L D "Bubba" Jackson, Jr. and Heather Patterson; grandson, Whit Jackson; sister, Betty Vanya; and brother, Butch Steagall and wife Edith. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Patsy was married to L D for over 39 years until his death in August of 2001. They enjoyed a great marriage together which took them on many adventures in life along the way. They lived in Anchorage, Alaska for a few years in the late 1960's giving them a ton of stories and memories that they both shared for the rest of their lives. Patsy worked as a Registered Nurse while in Alaska and carried her profession back home to Texas in which she worked at various hospitals and care facilities throughout the years until her retirement.

She was a natural caregiver and took care of whomever needed it and always offered help to anyone who she thought needed it. Patsy was very generous with her time and resources and never turned her back on someone in need.

Patsy was exceptionally close to her sister Betty, and they were "unofficially" joined at the hip! They made a terrific cooking team, and no doubt, knew how to finish one another's sentences. They travelled all over the world together, and shared their Texas charm and lingo to whomever would listen.

She was a great mom and loved her son dearly. She was also very proud to be a grandmother, and Whit was her pride and joy. She bragged on him constantly and always showed off his pictures to whoever was around.

The family would also like to give very special gratitude to Patsy's niece Beth Gill and husband Craig, for their generosity, time, and most of all, love.

A private ceremony will be held for Patsy and the family has asked to please not send flowers, but to make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honor.

Patsy's family extends their deepest gratitude for the love and support given during this process.
