Peggy Gail Green Hutcheson, born June 11, 1949 in Great Bend, Kansas died June 26, 2018 in Livingston, Texas, aged 69. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Alwyne Green and Jane Mae Cottrell Green.

During her childhood years, her family lived in Great Bend, Kansas, Marshall, Texas, and settled in Lufkin, Texas where Peggy was raised. She was baptized in 1961 at First Presbyterian Church in Lufkin, Texas, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lufkin High School in 1967. She then attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas before transferring to, and graduating with honors from, the University of Houston with a bachelor of science in education. Peggy was a member of the Phi Beta Pi Honor Society.

On January 24, 1970 she married her junior high school sweetheart, Harold Allen Hutcheson of Lufkin. They lived most of their married life in Spring, Texas and retired to Livingston, Texas in 2018.

Peggy worked in education for over 25 years. When she retired in 2012, she had enjoyed 18 years teaching at Mittelstadt Elementary School in the Klein Independent School District.

Her two sons, Matthew Cottrell Hutcheson and Allen McClain Hutcheson, were the joys of her life and she loved being their mother. Times spent on wonderful vacations, relaxing at "Snow Hill", and just being together, as Peggy would say "it didn't get any better than that".

Peggy was a long time member of Cypress Creek Christian Church in Spring, Texas where she served as an elder, on the Communion team, and a member of the Spring Home Group. She was also a member of the Literary Ladies Book Club, LAF Investment Club, Retired Teachers Lunch Group, and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Her love of books was legendary, and she could often be found deep into two or more at a time. She had a special passion for travel, and Peggy and her husband Harold would travel as much as possible. A highlight trip was a 32 day trip around Europe on Eurail passes. She had a goal to visit all 50 states, and managed to visit 42 before she passed. Together with Harold they visited 11 countries and enjoyed several cruises. Other interests included collecting Occupied Japan ware, sock monkeys, and British memorabilia. Life was truly a wonderful ride.

Survivors include, Harold Allen Hutcheson, husband of 48 years. Son, Matthew Hutcheson, wife Monica, and sons Elijah and Zachary of Cypress, Texas. Son, Allen Hutcheson, wife Amber, and sons Ellis and Milam of Kingwood, Texas. Sister, Paula Carole Johnson and husband Paul of Fairfield, Texas.

Other family members, Bill and Janet Hutcheson, Dawn and John Williams, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also, dearest friend and sister of the heart, Sue Lewis Moore.
