Graveside Services for Peggy Joyce Kimes age 75 of Goodrich will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM graveside at Peebles Cemetery with Rev. Tom Owen officiating.

She was born August 20, 1934 in Anderson, South Carolina the daughter of John Thomas Whitt and Birdie B. Whitt. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam Kimes, Kenneth Whitt, brother and Wayne Whitt, brother.

Peggy was the most loving woman anyone could have met, she worked for Goodrich ISD for over twenty years and she was Granny Peg not only to her grandchildren but to all the children at GISD. Peggy also was a huge part of the Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years, so much a part of it that a truck was names in her honor, ""Miss Peggy.""

She lived in Polk County since 1965 and has served as a major part of her community of Goodrich. She gave so much love and received so much love in return from family and friends. She was greatly respected and will be tremendously missed as family was the most important part of her life.

She is survived by Walter Thomas Whitt, brother , PeeWee & Linda Sue Whitt, brother & sister in law, Sammy & Denise Kimes, son and daughter in law, Stanley & Elaine Kimes, son & daughter in law, David Kimes, son, Pamela Kimes, daughter, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
