Funeral services for Pete D. Mence age 75 of Livingston will be held Thursday December 31, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Central Baptist Church in Livingston with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating and interment to follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston. Pallbearers will be Trenton Smith, Joe Rizzato, Joe Aiena, Carl Lemke, John Hayter and R. J. Enard. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Livingston Lions Club, Harold Nazworth, Dr. Barry Robertson and Maricio Llanes.

He was born October 3, 1934 in Beaumont, Texas the son of Dominic & Elizabeth Natali Mence and passed away December 28, 2009 at his home in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated from Southpark High School and then graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, he served in the United States Army and he was a member of the Jaycees, Lufkin Evening Lions, Livingston Lions, DETCOG, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Southeast Texas Forest Owners Association, the American Legion, Escapees RV Club, Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America, he preformed the auditing of the contribution fund for the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and was member of the Livingston Polk County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mence was also a past Livingston City Council Member.

He is survived by his wife Thelma Mence of Livingston, David Mence, son, of Livingston, Kyle Mence, son of Livingston, Sylvester Mence, brother of Beaumont, Texas, Gloria Edwards, sister of Shreveport, La., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
