Funeral services for Rachel Elizabeth Thacker McGee, 80, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2020, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., before the service begins.

Mrs. McGee was born November 4, 1940 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents Robert Edward Thacker and Lela Mae (Owens) Thacker, and passed away November 14, 2020 in Hempstead, Texas. During her life she taught Sunday school and Bible study classes, was active in the Women's Missionary Union, and served on various church committees. She worked in retail for 42 years before retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Irvin McGee; daughter, Deborah Ann McGee; great grandson, Dakota Phillips; brothers, Donald Eugene Thacker and Kenneth Edward Thacker; and son-in-law, Ricky Gothard.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Lynn Gothard of Elkton, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, James Robert and Sylvia McGee of Hempstead, Texas; grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Reed and husband Stephen, Jason Daniel Gothard, Misty Leigh Smith and husband Brian, Pamela Ryan Phillips and husband Sam; great grandchildren, Maddy Davis, Mason Smith, Luke Thomas Phillips, Sammie Ryan, Stephen Reed III, Leigh Ann Smith, and Maeli Smith; sister, Nadine Ellerbe and husband Thomas of Huffman, Texas; brother, David Thacker and wife Carol of Humble, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, a host of church family, other relatives and friends.
