Graveside services for Ralph (Bill) Ernest Keels Jr., 94, formerly of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Keels was born October 11, 1924 in Trinity County, Texas to parents, Ralph Ernest Keels Sr. and Hilma (Erickson) Keels, and passed away February 3, 2019 in a Baytown health care facility at the age of 94.

Bill served in the United States Army as a military police officer during WWII and the Korean conflict. In later years, he worked in insurance sales for American National Insurance Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 63 years, Flossie Stanley Keels; brother, Henry Keels; and first grandchild, Donnie Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Jean E. Smith and husband, Don of Dayton, Texas; daughter, Joanna Hammond and husband, Jim of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Doris; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nieces; and a nephew; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
