Ray White, 78, was born in Livingston, Texas on September 11, 1944, to Carnie Wiley White and Letha Driskel White. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1963 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University in May 1968. Ray went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2023.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas.

Ray taught math and science for four years. He then built homes for thirty-five years, retiring from Mitchell Carroll Homes in 2009.

Ray was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and in later years, loved playing golf. Dianne and Ray loved to travel and take pictures of the states and countries they visited. His hobby then became photography and photo art. One of his many pictures hangs in a hotel on the Sam Houston State University campus. His photo art of bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes hang in the homes of family and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Peggy Jean White, and his beloved daughter Ashley Carol White Allen. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dianne Smith White, son Dr. Wade White and wife Lisa: grandchildren; Karle Allen, Taylor Trey Allen, Walker White, Katie White, and Jackson White. He will be missed by sister-in-law Nancy Pope, niece Samantha Davis and nephew Gregg Pope. Special friends: Cuz Boswell, Ronnie Carroll, Corky Cochran, Chuck Cauthor, Frank Degola, Bob Felton, Keith Freadrich, Mitch Migl, Gary Tilton, Dennis Dockal and Joe Wiggins.

Ray's ashes will be buried next to his daughter, Ashley at Peebles Cemetery.
