Raymond Hershel McDowell age 86 of Livingston passed away Thursday February 18, 2010. Funeral services will be Saturday February 20, 2010 at 3:00PM in the Livingston First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Roger Gragg and Rev. Kenneth Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska. Visitation will be Friday February 19, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Onalska Chapel.

Raymond was born December 27, 1923 in Ogden, AR., to parents James McDowell and Cleo Ogden McDowell. He proudly served our country in the Untied States Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond H. McDowell Jr., 1 brother and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou McDowell of Livingston, daughter Sharon Stock and husband John of Onalaska, son Albert McDowell of New Caney, and daughter Marilyn Skaggs and husband Mike of Onalaksa, sisters Grace Huett of Texarkana, AR., Jerolyn Duren of Hooks, Naomi Allen of Texarkana, AR., and Mellow Lou Crysel of Texarkana, AR., brothers George McDowell of Hobbs, NM, Sherman McDowell of Sweeny, and Glendale McDowell of Atlanta, Tx. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jamie Cope, Jason Cope, Rhiannon McDowell, Stoney McDowell, Ginny Gibson, Eric Skaggs,Emily Skaggs, Jarrod McDowell, Katy McDowell and Adam McDowell, great grandchildren Scarlett Cope, Jayden Cope, Jenna Gibson and Jake Gibson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Cope, Jason Cope, Eric Skaggs, Stoney McDowell, Jarrod McDowell, Adam McDowell, and Clyde Crystal.
