Raymond Lee Silcox

Raymond Lee Silcox was born on September 7, 1934, to Ray and Pearlie Silcox. On February 8, 2013, he went to be with Jesus. Raymond was 78 years old. Raymond was raised in Livingston, Texas and graduated as a star football player. He attended Sam Houston State University and served in the United States Army. Raymond was a volunteer fireman for Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department for many years, where he served as Chief for several years. He retired from the natural gas plant on FM 2665. Raymond spent his retirement years farming, baling hay and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Peggy Emanuel Silcox; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dameron and Martha Silcox of Spring, Texas, Ray and Elaine Silcox of Austin, Texas, Paul Ray and Rose Silcox of Conroe, Texas; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Silcox of Goodrich, Texas; grandsons, Caleb Erwin, Brian Silcox, Peter Silcox, Christopher Silcox and David Morrissey; granddaughters, Autumn Erwin and Lacey Morrissey Erwin; great grandsons, Quinton Silcox, Jaden Thompson and Joey Tucker; great granddaughter, Taylor Stone; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Jackie Silcox and Paul and Stephanie Silcox; one sister and brother-in-law, Francis and George Cunningham; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services for Raymond, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Bro. Wayne Landrum will officiate the services. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #8568. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be the firemen that served on the Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
