Rebecca Fikes 88 was called home to be with her Lord on Monday June 16, 2008 in Livingston.
Mrs. Fikes was born February 19, 1920 in Ben Arnold, Milam County, Texas. Her parents were William Jess Bell and Dora Russell Bell. Raised in Milam County, she met and married Ralph Wallace Fikes there on Dec. 24, 1936. After living and raising children in Cameron, Corpus Christie, and Houston, Ralph and Rebecca moved to Huffman in 1970. They opened a hardware store there and ran it together until his death in 1987. Rebecca was a active member of First Baptist Church in Huffman until she moved to Livingston in 2003 and became a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters and son in laws: Dora Lee and Jessie Muston of Nacogdoches, Bonnie and Coy King of Magnolia, Reba and Thomas Winslow of Trinity, and Lillian and Ronnie Fisher of Livingston. She is also survived by her one brother Eldridge Bell of Florida, and two sisters, Lillian Provost and Cecilia Figueiro of New York.
In addition, Rebecca leaves behind the following grandchildren: Wanda Villarreal, Ralph Mackey, Danny Mackey, Theresa Strack, Judy Osborn, Kathy Shudy, Lynda Sanders, Coy King Jr., Cheryl Salee, Barry Downing, Michael Winslow, Charles Winslow, Ronda Campbell, Will Fisher and Sarah Bass as well as thirty great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 10:00PM on Friday June 20, 2008. The funeral service will be at 11:00AM on June 21, 2008 at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00PM in the Huffman Cemetery in Huffman with Terry Strack officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons in law: Will Fisher, Coy King Jr., Cole Campbell, Charlie Winslow, Jeffrey Salee, and John Villarreal.
The family has ask that in lieu flowers donations be made to the Lighthouse Hospice of Conroe.
