Obituary
Funeral services for Rees Arlen Smart, 78, of Cleveland, Texas, will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Tim Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Rice Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service begins in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Smart was born October 10, 1936 in Hawthorne, Louisiana to parents Andrew Rees Smart and Eva Evelyn (Crosby) Smart and passed away November 2, 2014 in Shenandoah, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Ann Garrett Smart; sister, Ruby Eloise Smart; and son, Kevin Wayne Smart.
He is survived by his wife, Gwyn Smart of Cleveland, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lisa Smart of Dayton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Eddie Hoagland of Conroe, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Patsy Lewis of White House, Texas; son, David Miller of Carthage, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis Smart and Tena; brother and sister-in-law, Andy Smart and Lydia; brother and sister-in-law, Almon Smart and Barbara; brother and sister-in-law, Frankie Smart and Juanita; brother and sister-in-law, Julian Lynn Smart and Brenda; sister and brother-in-law; Helen June Swain and Clifford; grandchildren, Amber Morris and Tosh, Chase Miller, Chris and Pam Smart, Hayley Miller, Heather Smart, Julie and Ray Laake, Justin Lewis, Matthew and Abby Hoagland, Richard Smart, Jr., Samantha Smart, and Tabatha Smart; great-grandchildren, Abby, Alex, Braden, Brandon, Bryan, Christopher, Jaycie and Sherry; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
