Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Richard Gordon Wilson, 60, of Spring, Texas, will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Bill Hamlin officiating.

Richard was born October 7, 1959 in Rochester, New York to parents, Raymond and Janet Wilson. He passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 18, 2019 in The Woodlands, Texas from diabetic complications that left him disabled and eventually blind.

He is survived by his loving mom, provider and caretaker for the last 6 years, Janet Kidd; son, Richard "R.J" Wilson Jr. (son of Robin); sisters, Deborah Cheyne and husband, David, and Cynthia Weaver and husband, Byron; nieces and nephews, Alicia, T.J., Anthony, Christopher (Vanessa), and Robbie; wife, Mary Joe; step-children, D.J., Christin, and Jinny; and his beloved cat, BeBe; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

During his life, Richard was a very hard worker and often put in lots of overtime hours to make sure that his family was taken care of. In his free time, he loved all kinds of music, to be outdoors and to go fishing, but his true passion was Our Heavenly Father - even from a young age Richard wanted to study the ministry. He was very active in his church, Christ's Way Bible Church, and often helped the pastor with sermons. He could also be found singing with the choir. Richard will be sorely missed, but is now gleefully singing with the angels - where he feels no more hurt or pain.
