Funeral services for Rickey Darrell Withers, 55, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Goodrich First United Methodist Church in Goodrich, Texas with Pastor John Moye officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Rickey Darrell Withers was born August 22, 1966 in Lefors, Texas, to parents, Henry Withers, Jr. and Blanch (Woods) Withers, and passed away September 8, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Withers. Rickey proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the former Pastor at Drew's Landing Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas. Rickey served as the Youth Pastor at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas and also founded a nursing home ministry at the Corrigan Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was the associate Pastor at the Goodrich First United Methodist Church and just recently was appointed the Pastor of Mt. Enterprise First United Methodist Church.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Shunitia (Moye) Withers of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Tia Jones, of Livingston, Texas; sons, Deven Withers, David Withers, both of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Royalty Withers of Cleveland, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Todd Keiser and Lacey of Nebraska; son, Michael Jones of Waverly Hall, Georgia, brother and sister-in-law, Mike Withers and Deanna of Trinity, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce Withers and Ruth of Lefors, Texas; sister-in-law, Kathy Withers of Huntsville, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Diana Jackson and Russell of Amarillo, Texas; grandsons, Zahmir "Z-Man" Franklin and Rex; granddaughters, Kali, Payton and Scarlett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rickey was a true servant of God, serving Christ and making disciples was his first love. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandson. Anyone that knew Rickey knew his love for fishing and the Pittsburgh Steelers was a big part of his enjoyment. He was a true "tell it like it is" friend and would go out of his way to help anyone. A true heart of servant!
