Services for Ricky Earl Wittge, 72, of Livingston, Texas will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, with interment to follow at 2:30 p.m., at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas. Visitation will be held the day of service, from 9:00-10:00 a.m., at the funeral home.

Ricky went home to heaven on September 13, 2024 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas.

Ricky was born August 5, 1952 in Houston, Texas to the late Wesley and Della Wittge. He went to school in Pasadena, Texas and later attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas.

After completing his studies he went to work at Hermann Hospital in the Houston Medical Center. He worked in the mailroom for over 25 years until health issues forced him to retire. He made quite a few friends while working there, one of which was Dr. Red Duke.

After retiring he moved to Livingston, Texas where many of his friends from the Deaf School lived. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his 4-wheeler and spending time with his family and friends.

Ricky is survived by his life companion, Beverly Hickman; her daughter, Brenda McDonald; son, Sam Hickman; and their children; his sisters, Gail Wittge Baker and Cheryl Wittge Eason (Micheal); nieces, Amy Wimberly (Erik) and Kelsey Eason; great nephew and great niece Christofer and Dellaney Wimberly.
