Funeral services for Robert Junior Poncho, of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation in Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Indian Presbyterian Church in Livingston, Texas with CRE Debra Kleinman and Rev. David Busby officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568 honor guard. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Robert Junior Poncho was born April 4, 1931 on the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation to parents, Folsom David Poncho and Taia Jane (John) Poncho and passed away June 25, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. Robert enjoyed sports such as softball, baseball, and basketball in which he made it to state. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Germany during peace time. He loved the Lord and was an ordained deacon and elder for the Indian Presbyterian Church and also a lay leader. He was a gospel singer with the Poncho Family Singers for about 50 years traveling to surrounding areas and different states, touching many lives with his songs. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Randall Poncho; brothers, Chap Cain Poncho, Needham W. Poncho and Marion Snider Poncho; great grandsons, Jaymen Eric Robinson and Cain Ty Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Poncho of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Bethel Nora Sylestine of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Garrique Boyce Robinson, William Harry Robinson, Jacob Ty Robinson; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Andrea Robinson, Bryson Cole Robinson, Tairia Ty Robinson, Izabella Ty Robinson and Keera Lynn Robinson; sisters, Ruthie Nell Padilla of Pasadena, Texas, Lenora Williams of Livingston, Texas, Jennie Lee Thompson of Livingston, Texas; brother, Elwin J. Poncho and Elizabeth of Spurger, Texas; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Poncho of Livingston, Texas and Mary Poncho of Woodville, Texas, Marjorie W Battise of Kinder, Louisiana, Myrna L Wilson of Elton, Louisiana ; nephews, Roby Williams and wife Sarah Jane, Clinton R. Williams, Harvey Williams and wife Olivia, Stewart Ponch, Richard J. Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Eric Poncho, Elgin Poncho, Micheal Poncho, Tony Battise; nieces, Julie Williams, Bernitta Langley and Erwin, Vanessa Reyna, Kimberly Poncho, Rashyal Sylestine and Frank, Sylvia Lovelace, Charla Talancon, Cheryl Poncho and Jose Chavarria, Minerva Poncho and Stewart, Sehoya D. Roussell and Keith, Sehoke F. Bordelon, Rebecca Knightand Noel ; and a host of great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, other family members and friends.

Mr. Poncho will be escorted to his grave by Pallbearers: Garrique B. Robinson, William H. Robinson, Jacob T. Robinson, Richard J. Thompson, Clinton R. Williams, Luis Micheal Reyna, Eric Poncho, and Zachary Williams.
