Funeral service for Rodger Norles Battise, 53, of Woodville, Texas will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Alabama-Coushatta Multi-Purpose Center in Livingston, Texas with Debra Battise-Kleinman CRE and Rev. David Busby officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Alabama-Coushatta Multi-Purpose Center in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Battise was born in Tampa Bay, Florida to parents, McClamroch and Marilyn Battise, and passed away May 3, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas. During his life, Rodger was the first tribal security guard when it first started. He then received his Peace Officer License and worked for the Tribal Police Department. In all, he worked 27 years for the Reservation. He is preceded in death by his mother; son, Cody Battise; and granddaughter, Alexcia Alec.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Battise of Woodville; daughter and son-in-law, Silwonnie Battise and Craig of Livingston; son, Christopher Battise of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Rhea Philpott and Mark of Woodville; son, Michael Battise of Livingston; father, McClamroch Battise of Livingston; sister, Misty Battise of Huntsville; and grandchildren, B.J. Battise, Crailee Battise, Charley Battise, Adam Becnienti, Vallery Becnienti, Angel Davis, Kari Butter, Jonah Butter, Mark Philpott, Maya Battise, and Makenna Williams; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
