November 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holhausen-Darby Cemetery in Moscow, Texas with Rev. Jason Scisco and Rev. Rich Glass officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568.
Roland Dement was born October 12, 1927 in Meridian, Mississippi to parents, Clermont Dement and Ruth (Fowler) Dement and passed away November 22, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, Mr. Dement proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Shell Chemical Company in Deer Park, Texas and was known as a "craftsman's craftsman". He was a long time member of the Church Triumphant Church in Pasadena, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clermont Dement, and Joel N. and Ruth Elaine Lipscomb; wife, Frances Ann Dement; brothers, Shelby Dement, Edwin Dement and Joe Jr. Lipscomb; and sisters, Ruth Nordmann and Caroline Daves.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kim Dement of Spring, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Kahanek of Houston, Texas; son, Shelby Dement of Moscow, Texas; grandchildren, Colton Dement, Laura Fitzpatrick and Justin, Emily McVety and Joey, Misty Proler and Ryan, Savannah Wilson, Nicholas Dement, and Stacey Dement; great-grandchildren, Stella Proler, Marcus Proler, Stetson McVety, and Eleanor McVety; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
