Obituary

Funeral services for Ronald Lynn Harris, 51, of Coldspring, Texas will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Andrew J. Hopkins Activity Center "The Hop" on the campus of the Crockett High School in Crockett, Texas with Rev. Floyd Price and Rev. Darrell Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Prairie Cemetery in Crockett, Texas. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015.

Mr. Harris was born February 15, 1964 in Crockett, Texas to parents, Bennie Harris and Bernice (Cooper) Harris and passed away October 31, 2015 in Coldspring, Texas. He graduated from Crockett High School in 1982 and went on to study at Prairie View A&M, where he graduated in 1986. Ronald then began working for the Natural Resource Soil Conservation Service (NRSCS) as a conservationist. He also served on numerous committees with the NRSCS and was also a Zone 1 and Zone 4 Civil Rights Representative. In addition, he served as a basketball and baseball official. He is preceded in death by his father, Bennie Harris; and brothers, Clois Harris, James Edward Harris and Larry Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Harris of Coldspring, Texas; son, Dustin Lynn Harris of Bryan, Texas; son, Devion Lynn Harris of Pleasanton, Texas; daughter, Daylyn Lashea Harris of Coldspring, Texas; mother, Bernice Harris of Crockett, Texas; sister, Josephine Arnold of Missouri City, Texas; pets, Scar and Diamond Dakota Harris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
