Ronnie Lee Ennis, 78, of Onalaska, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.  Born on July 12, 1946, to George and Bessie Ennis, Ronnie lived a life marked by deep love, unwavering devotion, and quiet strength.  He will be remembered as a man who loved wholeheartedly — a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara, a proud and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. The impact of his love and the legacy of his kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Beyond his unrelenting love for family and friends, Ronnie found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing, woodworking, gardening, and baseball. He loved sharing stories about his latest fishing trips — especially how many he caught — or proudly talking about his newest woodworking project. His garden was a source of joy and pride, especially his tomatoes, which he loved to boast about, always noting how big and beautiful they were.  Ronnie was also a lifelong baseball fan. Whether cheering on his grandchildren from the stands or rooting for his favorite team, the Houston Astros, he never missed a chance to enjoy the game.

Ronnie had a special way of lighting up any room he entered. His quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to those around him, creating countless cherished memories.  He was a proud man, and nothing brought him more joy than his family. That pride shone brightly in the smile that stretched across his face each time he walked into a room and was greeted by the excited voices of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren calling out, "Pawpaw!"  Ronnie's heart swelled with pride for his family, and that love and pride were deeply returned by each of them.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Ennis, and his son, Gerald Ennis.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Ennis, his brother Harold Ennis (and wife, Debbie), and their three children: Debra Basdeo, Lori Ennis (and her partner, Lori Williams), and Ronnie Lee Ennis Jr.  Ronnie was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Justin (and wife, Brittnee), Garth (and wife, Shyenne), Courtney, Brandon, and Nicholas (and wife, Hannah).  He will also be deeply missed by his ten great-grandchildren: Braelynn, Weston, Wyette, Willow, Adilyn, Alexys, Waylon, Colter, Olivia, and Dominic.  A visitation service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, located at 212 Old Groveton Rd., Onalaska, TX.
