Memorial services for Roy Donald Helmer, age 52 of Kingwood, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Harold Isaacs will conduct the service.

Roy Donald Helmer was born August 28, 1959, in Houston, Texas to parents Fred Helmer and Mary Russom Helmer. He passed away in Houston, Texas on April 10, 2012. Roy worked in the printing industry for over thirty years, with his current employer being Aspen Imaging. He was a devoted family man, putting his family and friends first. Roy enjoyed building things of wood, working with electronics and piddling in his garage. When not at work, Roy enjoyed his passion for Tae Kwon Do, having attained a Second Degree Black Belt. He enjoyed the outdoors, which his favorite being camping with the family and friends. He loved sports, and was a master of video games, namely Uncharted.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Helmer; and father-in-law, J.W. ""Shooter"" Martone. Roy is survived by his wife, Delinda ""Lindy"" Helmer of Kingwood, Texas; son, Cory D. Helmer of Kingwood, Texas; mother, Mary Helmer of Humble, Texas; mother-in-law, Dolly Meadows Martone of Kingwood, Texas; brother, Gary Helmer of Humble, Texas; brother, Jerry Helmer of Humble, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Derrick and Heather Helmer of Tomball, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Daniel Stone of Kingwood, Texas; brother-in-law, John Martone of Humble, Texas; niece and husband, Kristin and Matt Lewis; niece and husband, Chelsey and Chris Lawrence; niece, Johnna Martone; niece, Allie Stone; nephew, Kyle Stone; nephew, Colin Helmer; niece, Lauren Helmer; and numerous other family and friends.
